U-M Research & Compliance

Informed Consent Builder Pilot

The Informed Consent Builder is a third-party, web-based tool developed by BRANY to support the creation of clear, compliant informed consent and assent documents for human research studies.

What is the Informed Consent Builder Pilot?

The HRPP, with sponsorship from MICHR, is conducting a short-term pilot to evaluate the tool’s usefulness for U-M study teams. This pilot builds on the ongoing Protocol Builder pilot and focuses specifically on informed consent and assent templates.

Templates Available for Pilot Testing

The pilot will begin with the U-M templates listed below. Additional templates are expected to be added as the pilot progresses.

  • Exempt research consent template
  • Child assent template
  • Survey consent template
